Many times I prefer to record my favorite TV shows for viewing later in Windows Media Center. Unfortunately, the output format (DVR-MS developed by Microsoft) is not supported by many video players. One way to enjoy this type of videos without worrying about incompatibility issues is to convert the DVR-MS files to more popular video formats. DVR-MS Converter is a program that can help you with this task.
The application comes with a simplistic interface, and it doesn't offer any output configurations as it converts the DVR-MS files to the only one format - MPEG2. You can only choose a destination folder for the resulted video and wait for the conversion to complete.
A good aspect about using this program is its incredible processing speed. Even when you choose to convert more than one video at once, it takes little time to wait for converting.
Still, this conversion tool lacks relevant features which might come in handy at some points: a built-in video player, some movie editing tools (video cutter, special effects, etc.), more output configurations. But, if you ask me, the greatest disadvantage of this program is that you can convert the DVR-MS files to the only one format - MPEG2.
Taking into consideration that the application comes with so many important faults and you have to pay for it, I think you could find better solutions for DVR-MS conversion to other video formats.
